Hello! My name is Collin. I'm a student at the University of Washington, studying ecology, conservation, and evolutionary biology (minoring in marine biology). I like marine invertebrates, skeletons of all shapes and sizes, macroalgae, fungi, 20th century classical music, and carnivorous plants. Please read the captions on my posts before reblogging them; some posts can only be fully understood with their captions, and in certain cases, have very different meanings without them. Needless to say, please don't delete source info, scientific names, etc. on anything I post!
Photos, art, and sculpture tagged "personal" were made by me.
A comatulid crinoid (Florometra sp.), from off San Juan Island. I actually didn’t know they lived outside of tropical waters until I saw this one. The gloved hands belong to Katherine Maslenikov, director of the UW fish collection.
